little Bit about Jasonn
My name is
Jason Ensz. I'm running for Saguache County Commissioner district
two. I have been a resident of Saguache County for 9 years and
a resident of the San Luis Valley since 1995. My family and
I consider Saguache County and the San Luis Valley, our permanent
home. I have been married for 10 years. My wife and I have three
beautiful children. I am certain that we need to be concerned
about our children's future. I am a dedicated farmer and I will
always do my best to preserve our farming and ranching communities,
protect our traditional
Value System and our way of life.
I have served my community on the Center Fire
Department for 13 years. I am currently
1st lieutenant.

Commentary
on the Issues
Personal Commitment
I can honestly
say I don't have a personal agenda. I prefer to call it a personal
commitment to the residents of Saguache County. I don't have
a long list of political accomplishments because I am not a
politician. I can be a commissioner without being a career politician.
I consider public office holders to be on an equal footing with
their constituents. What that means is, office holders are servants
of the people. In return, the people serve one another by respecting
the authority of elected public officials who follow the Constitution.
Emergency Management Resolution
I want to go on record as saying
I will never sign a proposal written by anyone who is willing
to violate our constitutional rights and then call the proposal
an Emergency
Management Resolution. Resolutions are not meant
to violate the law.
Law Enforcement
I do believe taxpayer dollars
need to be spent wisely. A huge thing to me is the fact that
our law enforcement needs additional funding to effectively
do the job. We expect service when we need them. They will be
there if we support them. I would like to provide them the resources/facilities/tools
that they need to do their job to their best potential. We are
in a high traffic area for drugs and sex trafficking with limited
resources. Our Sheriff needs to have what is required to be
able to pursue and apprehend criminals.
Seniors and Veterans
I also would like to see what
can be done for seniors and veterans in our county. I don't
know specifically what can be done as yet, but I do want to
look into it and see what we can do to serve those who have
served us. They are the reason that we are here enjoying our
freedom.
Accessible * Attentive * Responsive
I want to be available to the
constituents to know that I'm representing what they want and
need. I've always had a hard time finding phone numbers for
county commissioners when I had questions for them. I believe
that should never be the case. I am Accessible, Attentive, and
Responsive. I will always do the best I can to serve the needs
of the people of Saguache County.
